i shall talk about HTM/LRM/CCM Lecturer Appreciation Day which took place yesterday.
It was this event where students were invited to compete against each other for a $400 Regent Hotel voucher. To be really frank, I felt rather insulted by the event.
A couple of weeks ago, the president of HTMIG asked me if I’m interested to do a video for them. I agreed cos he’s a really nice guy, and I’ve always been proud of HTM. He said LRM already had 2 groups and HTM doesn’t have a representative. Or maybe I don’t listen when other people are talking, it could be either. Later, I heard of an audition. Like what audition? I didn’t even know it was a competition and other people could compete with singing and dancing! The worst was when i got to know that the winner will be decided by voting only a day before. Meaning you have to bring your own supporters/voters. Bitch, please! I rushed the video making in 3 days and 1 sleepless night to show my appreciation for the lecturers, not have another BSC elections where I pull people to come support me. However I thought the $400 could be a good motivation for my team of people who filmed with me till late evening in school. Thanks guys.
I’m not thinking too highly of myself. But at least I have been invited to Channel News Asia twice, received public complaints to remove my videos, received school complaints to remove my videos, been on chinese newspaper LHZB and LHWB once each, U-Weekly once, TS magazine. And been the 0604433C and people used to talk about. Have some pride and learn your lesson, MING. This is not your platform. However because of the exposure, I feel quite ashamed that I didn’t come in 1st, even after knowing the nature of the contest.
Also not say the other performers are not good la. Juz got really nice voice, Micah sang one of my favourite songs, the malay guy from 32 the most quite cute, Bryan as usual is power and adeline/ben’s guest performance really melts my heart. So next time, just be a guest performer la deh.
You know whats the funny part? I didn’t even tell a person other than those in my filming team (8 people) down to the event, and i could come in second. Luckily I wasn’t so bad for a popularity contest, also.
